Deer Too

Acrylic on canvas 24x24in

Abu Dhabi, February 2024

Deer Too was a playful experiment—a dip into fashion-forward territory with a twist of woodland charm.

I imagined a trendy deer couple getting ready for a winter gala or an urban art opening, dressed not for camouflage but for attention. This piece was my first foray into rendering silky and furry textures on fabric, and I wanted to see how far I could push the sense of touch through paint.

The fur coat was especially fun—a stylish nod to old Hollywood, but on someone with antlers. The colors are soft but bold, and the overall feel is confident, a little cheeky, and undeniably fashionable.

It’s smaller than most of my pieces—more of a fashion sketch turned full character study.

Deer Too is about trying something new, letting yourself have fun with technique, and embracing a little glamor in unexpected places.
