Rigger
Acrylic on canvas 36x36in

Rigger (Chimp Collection No. 6) is one of Kabuki's brothers—and in many ways, her opposite. Where she challenges and charges forward, Rigger calculates, organizes, and double-checks.
He’s the old soul in the group. The type who’s probably been serious since childhood, and who definitely knows how to build a spreadsheet. There’s a sort of accountant energy about him—maybe even a little boring, but absolutely necessary.
And yet, he wears this wildly bright floral shirt. That contradiction is what I love about him. The shirt says “island holiday,” but the expression says, “I brought the itinerary.”
This piece let me play with texture again—wool in his vest, straw in the hat, and most of all, the challenge of keeping the floral pattern consistent as it curved around the contours of his frame.
He may not steal the spotlight, but Rigger brings balance. He’s the one who keeps the family grounded, keeps the books straight, and probably has a backup plan just in case.
Quiet, reliable, and secretly the glue.
