Egbert

Egbert (Chimp Collection No. 2) is the son of Filbert and Chiselle, and it shows. But while his parents radiate calm wisdom, Egbert is all spark and swagger—mischievous, full of life, and always a second away from causing (or solving) trouble.
He’s an eternal teenager—never quite still, always ready with a grin or a smart remark. The kind who could charm his way out of anything, and probably has.
I painted him with movement in mind. His hands tugging on his suspenders, that wide, confident stance—he's the kind of character who enters a room and steals the scene, then grins because he knows it.
Technically, this piece was a chance to practice more anatomical features—especially the hands and arms—and to deepen my work with pattern and shadow. I wanted his clothes to be loud but charming, like he inherited his style from someone who made a habit of bending rules but still ironed their shirt.
There’s something about Egbert that reminds me of my younger son—his energy, his presence, and the way his whole being is just a little louder than life.
If Filbert & Chiselle are the legacy, Egbert is the future—with a wink, a jump, and a heart full of mischief.
