Loretta

Acrylic on canvas 24x36in

Abu Dhabi, March 2025

Loretta was created as the free-spirited counterpart to Larry. Where Larry is clueless and content, Loretta is curious and clever—an old soul in colorful layers, radiating a quiet kind of wisdom.

There’s a touch of Nepalese influence in her styling—earthy and ornate, with patterns that feel both sacred and bohemian. She’s a traveler, a thinker, a tapestry of experiences.

This painting became a turning point in my study of fabric and texture. I challenged myself with detail: tassels, folds, embroidery, and flowing fabrics. There are tassels everywhere in this piece, and each one was its own little triumph.

Color was my playground here—bold, unapologetic, and joyfully layered. Every inch of Loretta tells a tactile story, not just of what she wears, but of what she’s seen.

To me, she’s the kind of character who’d offer you tea, read your palm, and leave you thinking about the conversation for weeks.

She’s fabric, soul, and wanderlust woven together.
